 • Mercureal treasure hunts combines elements of orienteering, art and problem-solving. • Organisations may use treasure hunt games where managers perceive that inter-departmental relationships need to be improved. • Alternatively it could just be a morale booster.
Online Treasure hunts
• For a large audience and an interactive session within your campus we set up an online treasure hunt. • A URL, user name and password is sent to all the employees from the HR. • Employees log on and solve cryptic clues, teasers and move from page to page to win exciting prizes. • This treasure hunt typically take two weeks to create as we sit with the IT team at your organization to ensure the online treasure hunt runs on all systems. • Very exciting! On floor gaming! Involves up to 2000 people at a time.
On ground treasure hunt
• For those who would like to go out and experience a real treasure hunt:
How it’s played:
• This first leg of the hunt has 4 - 8 clues. Teams must decode each clue, navigate to its destination and solve the puzzle found at the site. Correct answers gain victory points for the team while incorrect answers just waste everyone's time (just like at work).
• Teams report back to base camp, score their answers and engage in a facilitated debrief of the team building dynamics they just experienced. It is typical for teams to fiercely compete against each other in this opening round. However the teams that kept information from other teams, went off and did their own thing and engaged in individualistic behaviour, rather than team-oriented/supportive behaviour, usually score lower. This helps set the stage for the next phase of the scavenger hunt.
• The main scavenger hunt has 8 - 15 puzzles/clues and is significantly more difficult than the first leg. This part of the scavenger hunt can include tailored clues, specific to your company. Teams that work together increase everyone's score and place the organization in a much better position to win the entire event.  [back] |
